Three Wine Co Established 1885 2016

We are suckers for good and exciting old vine wines. There's no holding back our love, either. We continue searching for greate examples of old vine and love to feature them. Case in point, the Established 1885 reserve style blend from Three Wine Co is out 4th old vine wine from them. 

Winery Notes:

Our 2016 established 1885 red wine blend is comprised of 29.4% Zinfandel, 29.4% Mataro, 29.3% Carignane, 8.3% Petite Sirah, 2.2% Black Malvoisie (Cinsault), 1.4% Alicante Bouschet. A combination of our best and oldest vineyards!

The established 1885 2016 Red Wine Blend represents in modern terms the concept of synergy, or as Aristotle so eloquently stated, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” It is not the act of blending just any grapes together that achieves a positive synergistic effect, but it is blending the right varietals together, which have been determined over time, that are grown in the right soil type and in the right micro-climate. This red wine blend also represents the potential that California has always had and which generic varietal labeling had almost destroyed.
