Vermentino is an incredibly delcioius white wine that is gaining a fast following at Wines in Tandem. Giacomelli's is a top example showing the fresh and saline characteristics that jump from the glass when planted near the sea, as the Pianacce is. Great with fresh-caught seafood with lemon, or a nice charcuterie with finely aged meats and cheeses.
Pianacce is a Vermentino that overlooks the large body of salt water that is the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Exposure to salty air on stormy days means that the salt deposits on each grape and can therefore be found in every sip.
This salinity, typical of Pianacce, makes it a wine capable of enchanting and captivating, making you experience the typical sensations of seaside villages.
It is a wine that you don't buy, but that you choose to savor what Liguria is, with the sea, the many villages and its hills that descend to the sea.
