Combe Queyzaire Cotes du Rhone from winemaker Denis Deschamps, a smokin deal of a wine under $20. It’s a big, full bodied Syrah and Grenache blend with lots of character, from organically grown old vines grapes in the western part of the Rhone Valley.
Wines like this are soulful and Denis is an expert in capturing the essence of the region, having previously been the winemaker for a progressive cooperative for two decades before starting out on his own.
The Combe Queyzaire is dark fruited, peppery, incredibly smooth, and hits with a big profile that you would expect from a much more expensive wine.
You'll be happy to have this wine in the winter because it's a cold weather crowd pleaser.
