An expressive Chardonnay from southern Sonoma Valley. This is a cooler region, and the wine sees no oak aging, so the final product is really fresh and vibrant. Instead of an oak barrel, the flavors come from just the grapes. Fermented in stainless steel and concrete tanks and aged for 5 months sur lie, which gives it added complexity and body.
The wine doesn’t see malolactic fermentation, so it retains that freshness, especially orange zest, sea breeze, and pineapple.
2021 was a dry winter and cool spring, resulting in vines that were low yielding and small berries, which gives the wine even more depth and character.
